This film is a scathing assessment of the shopping culture that has consumed the United States. The leader of the charge is the exuberant Reverend Billy who leads the Church of Stop Shopping. Their mission is to save the country from the Shopocalypse which they see as the end of humankind from rampant consumerism, over-consumption and the fires of eternal debt.
