This lush production chronicles the life of the young Jewish girl, Hadassah, who goes on to become the Biblical Esther. Hadassah is an orphaned peasant who is summoned to the palace and becomes the wife of King Xerxes of Persia. Initially hiding her heritage, she eventually takes risks to protect her people.
