MICROCOSMOS
Feature Length Documentary
Miramax Films; Directed by Claude Nuridsany
Rated G; 77 minutes; 1996
Through the use of highly advanced camera equipment (which makes the multi-legged subjects of this documentary seem larger than life) French biologists Claude Nuridsany and Marie Perennou chronicle one full day in a French meadow teeming with insect life. Much more interesting than a standard nature piece, MICROCOSMOS is an excellent peek into the pastimes, habits, and sex lives of earth's most ancient creatures.
